Lecturer - Clinical Medicine

Responsibilities

• Contribute to curriculum development in line with COC and CUE requirements.
• Engage in research, community health outreach and publication.
• Mentor students and participate in departmental work.
• Teach clinical medicine courses such as medicine, surgery, paediatrics, reproductive health, diagnostics and clinical skills.
• Conduct skills-lab sessions and supervise students during clinical rotations.
• Set and mark examinations, including OSCEs and logbook assessments.

Academic and Professional Requirements

• Master's Degree in Clinical Medicine or a related health science (e.g. Family Medicine, Public Health, Medical Education, a clinical speciality) from a recognised university.
• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Medicine (and Community Health) from a recognised university.
• Registered and licensed by the Clinical Officers Council (COC), with a valid practising licence.
• At least two (2) years' teaching experience at university or college level.

• Degrees from universities recognised by the Commission for University Education (CUE); foreign qualifications must be recognised or equated by CUE.
• Current registration and a valid practising licence with the relevant regulatory body, where the profession is regulated.
• Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (integrity), where applicable, and be able to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct.

• Willingness to teach and supervise across classroom, laboratory or skills-lab, clinical and community settings as the programme requires.
• Good communication, mentorship, teamwork and ICT/e-learning skills.
