Grade 1 Teacher – Excel Horizons Academy

Excel Horizons Academy seeks a motivated Grade 1 Teacher to deliver engaging lessons and help learners build strong academic, social and practical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work and learning materials.
• Teach foundational literacy, numeracy and other Grade 1 learning areas.
• Use practical, interactive teaching methods suited to different learning needs.
• Assess progress, maintain accurate records and provide timely feedback.
• Create an orderly, supportive and inclusive classroom.
• Work with parents and colleagues to support learners’ development.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A recognised qualification in Primary Teacher Education or a related field.
• Strong ability to teach early literacy and numeracy.
• Familiarity with competency-based teaching and assessment.
• Good communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
• Previous experience teaching lower primary classes is an added advantage.
• Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and have a valid TSC number.
