Lecturer - Nursing

Responsibilities

• Contribute to curriculum review in line with NCK and CUE standards.

• Provide academic advising and pastoral support to students.
• Engage in research, publication and community outreach, and serve on departmental committees.
• Plan and teach undergraduate nursing courses using learner-centred methods.
• Facilitate skills-lab demonstrations, return demonstrations and simulation sessions.
• Supervise, mentor and assess students during clinical placements in hospitals and community settings.
• Prepare course outlines, teaching materials, examinations and continuous assessments.

Academic Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing from a university recognised by the Commission for University Education (CUE).
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BScN) from a recognised university.
• Registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK), with a valid practising licence.
• At least two (2) years' teaching experience in nursing education at university or college level.
• Willingness and flexibility to teach across the classroom, skills laboratory and clinical areas.
• Degrees from universities recognised by the Commission for University Education (CUE); foreign qualifications must be recognised or equated by CUE.
• Current registration and a valid practising licence with the relevant regulatory body, where the profession is regulated.
• Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (integrity), where applicable, and be able to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Willingness to teach and supervise across classroom, laboratory or skills-lab, clinical and community settings as the programme requires.
• Good communication, mentorship, teamwork and ICT/e-learning skills.
