Internal Audit and Risk Officer II

Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks

An officer at this grade will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

i. Supporting in the implementation of policies, strategies, frameworks, guidelines, plans, standards and procedures that impact on internal audit while ensuring compliance to applicable laws, statutes and circulars;

ii. Supporting in the implementation of risk based annual internal audit plans and programmes;

iii. Collecting and collating data for preparing Audit reports with appropriate recommendations;

iv. Supporting in the implementation of internal audit systems in accordance with International Standards on Auditing;

v. Conducting follow-up audits to ensure implementation of audit recommendations;

vi. Supporting in the implementation of capacity building programs to promote awareness of governance, risk management and internal controls;

vii. Updating audit records for adequate documentation in the department.

Knowledge, Experience and qualifications required For appointment to this grade

An officer must have the following Qualifications:

i. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce (Accounting/ Finance); Business Administration (Accounting/ Finance) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

ii. Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Part II or Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) Part II certificate or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

iii. Proficiency in computer applications.
